About me
I like to stay busy having adventures with my wife and our dog. Biking, river trips, ski trips, and dinners with friends. I pick up work doing odd jobs–carpentry, welding, and building things. Mostly, I am trying to say no to work these days 😉 I also partner with a group called the Returning Rapids Project. We are studying the return of the rapids in Lower Cataract Canyon.
The Best Part of My Job
Working in beautiful places, and it doesn't feel like work.
How I found OARS
I started kayak guiding in Alaska and then was living in Jackson Hole after that. My good friend was an OARS manager, and he gave me a job. I have bounced from Jackson to Vernal to Moab and then down to Grand Canyon. I guess it has become a career because I can't find any good reasons to stop guiding.
My Favorite Spot on the River/Outdoors
The Returned Rapids of Cataract Canyon at high water are some of the best around. It's consistent rapids for over a mile.
Favorite River Tradition
Strumming my guitar up Blacktail Canyon.
I Can’t Live Without
Coffee.
My Fun Fact
Making cricket noises at opportune moments.
