We’re thrilled to announce that OARS Dinosaur has been voted “Best River Guide” in Salt Lake City Weekly’s Best of Utah 2025. The honor shines a spotlight on the passionate guides who bring the wild beauty of the Uinta Basin to life, especially on the crowd-favorite Split Mountain Canyon trip, a fun and splashy run through the heart of Dinosaur National Monument.

Known for its playful Class II-III rapids, big Western landscapes, and family-friendly thrills, Split Mountain is one of OARS’ most accessible and joy-packed adventures. From wave trains to ancient geology, it’s a one-day ride that delivers river magic start to finish.

“Our Dinosaur crew pours their hearts into every trip,” said Steve Markle, OARS Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “This recognition is a testament to their skill, their passion, and the unforgettable experiences they create on the river for our guests.”

In addition to Split Mountain Canyon day trips, OARS Dinosaur runs the following multi-day rafting trips from their Vernal, Utah-based operation:
