POSITION SUMMARY

 

  • The Finance Director oversees the company’s payroll and accounting departments. In this position, you will not only be an accomplished accountant and proactive with company finances, but will also be commercially aware and provide advice on the best path of growth for our business
  • Your duties include establishing targets, developing budgets, and performing financial analysis. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with outstanding interpersonal and leadership abilities. Your ultimate goal will be to guide the company towards profitability and success

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

  • Oversee the financial strategic planning of the company by evaluating its performance and potential risks
  • Perform regular financial analysis
  • Develop budgets that meet the requirements of company departments
  • Establish targets and manage all accounting and payroll employees
  • Supervise all managing agency (NPS, BLM, FS, El Dorado County, CA State Parks) audits/reviews and internal control processes
  • Prepare detailed reports on the company’s financial performance
  • Recognize patterns in company spending, revenue, and recommend solutions for improvement
  • Coordinate with external financial entities on behalf of the company
  • Ensure compliance with sales and business income tax regulations
  • Arrange for appropriate levels of general liability and auto insurance and provide certificates to managing agencies and additional insureds
  • Oversee certification and payment for all Franchise and Post-Use Fees
  • Prepare and submit annual financial statements to managing agencies
  • Process payroll for O.A.R.S. Companies, Inc. employees, and for subsidiary corporations as necessary to facilitate time off for payroll staff
  • Year-end reporting for CPA-prepared tax returns
  • Oversee corporate registrations
  • Manage office and warehouse lease arrangements, including signed agreements, payments and property taxes
  • Ensure compliance with Motor Carrier Permit requirements
  • Oversee accounting-related aspects of transition to new tour reservations software

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting software, corporate principals, and financial analysis
  • Experience with Sage Intacct preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • An analytical mind with superior organizational skills
  • Outstanding leadership skills

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

  • Physical Demands
    • Long hours sitting or standing and using office equipment, which can cause muscle strain
    • Some lifting of supplies and materials on an as-needed basis
  • Environmental Conditions
    • The OARS building is a busy, shared-office, call-center operation where interruptions are frequent.
    • Scheduled and unscheduled meetings with coworkers and managers are customary
    • Stressful working conditions due to frequent deadlines and the seasonality of field operations

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

 

  • Annual Salary
    • Based on experience
    • Merit increases and bonuses, dependent on individual and company performance, considered on an annual basis
