Where did you grow up?
Where do you call home now?
Year started at OARS?
What’s the best part of your job?
Launching my Dory into the Colorado river at Lee’s Ferry with my husband Roger Dale, and the rest of my river family and friends.
Tell us about your favorite rapid, hike or camp and what makes it special
Silver Grotto might be my favorite hike, mostly because it takes the right group of people on a hot summer day, and it’s an expedition!
My favorite rapid would have to be Fossil. I love the sweeping turns that carry me and my Dory down river…
Do you have a lucky charm or special river tradition?
At just the right moment, on most of my trips, I can coax the Elf out from under the waterfall at Elves Chasm! My lucky charm would have to be Regan Dale. He believed in me and my ability to row these elegant crafts. He’s in every hatch of the boats I row!
What can you not live without on a trip?
Family, friends, and the simple act of frolicking in the river…
Fun fact, special talent or favorite guiding memory
I would have to say the day that I rowed away from Lee’s Ferry with my first Dory. It was an all women’s trip. Now that was very special…and empowering!
