POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager supports the functions and processes that comprise the OARS accounting operations and is accountable for the timely, accurate and effective performance of the assigned tasks and activities to deliver monthly accounting processing and filing of taxes and franchise fees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Lead daily accounting activities and monthly accounting close process
- Execute periodic (daily, weekly, monthly) journal entries
- Manage Fixed Asset ledger, including depreciation and amortization entries
- Manage intercompany transactions and eliminations
- Ensure data integrity between reservations system and Sage
- Provide support to annual audit process from multiple agencies
- Provide treasury support, specifically cash management
- Ensure timely reconciliation of bank statements and credit card statements
- Calculate and ensure timely filings of taxes: payroll, franchise fees, sales tax, property tax, etc
- Provide oversight to accounts payable and vendor payments (checks, ACHs, wires)
- Answer frequent questions from other company departments
- Assist with multi-location procurement process, controls and process improvement
- Establish and maintain collaborative and respectful partnerships with OARS managers, HR and Accounting teams
- Back-up to Accounting team functions as needed
- Supervise team of two in accounting
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field and/or CPA preferred
- Experience with Sage Intacct preferred
- Three to five years experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting
- Three to five years supervisory experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Disciplined, consistent and relentless adherence to processing controls

- Develop and sustain a level of professionalism among staff and managers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional listening skills; take direction while helping ensure positive communications

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands
- Long hours sitting/standing and using office equipment, which can cause muscle strain
- Some lifting of supplies and materials on an as-needed basis
Environmental Conditions
- The OARS building is a busy, shared-office, call-center operation where interruptions are frequent.
- Scheduled and unscheduled meetings with coworkers and managers are customary
- Stressful working conditions due to the seasonality of outfitting, when everything appears to be happening at the same time company-wide
COMPENSATION
Annual Salary
- $68,000 – $82,000, dependent upon experience
- Merit increases and bonuses, dependent on individual and company performance, considered on an annual basis
