What’s the best part of your job?

Having the opportunity to meet so many amazing people in such a short period of time. Getting to hang out on the river all day isn’t bad either.

Tell us about your favorite rapid, hike or camp and what makes it special

My favorite rapid is Tunnel Shoot on the Middle Fork of the American. It gives you the feeling of terror and joy all at the same time. And once you have made it through the tunnel you can turn back and enjoy one of the best views on the river.

Do you have a lucky charm or special river tradition?

Every time I get on the river I take a moment to appreciate the beauty and strength of the river I am on. I then thank the river herself for the fact that I get to be out rafting, which I love so much. I always ask for safe passage on the trip, for me, my guests, my crew, along with anyone else who is out on the river that day.

What can you not live without on a trip?

Not yet

Fun fact, special talent or favorite guiding memory

On a multi-day trip I can’t live with out my camp slippers.
