What’s the best part of your job?

It’s hard to pick just one part, but if I had too, it would be falling asleep on my boat under the stars while being rocked by my mama–the river.

Tell us about your favorite rapid, hike, or camp and what makes it special.

My favorite rapid is Big Drop 3 (at low water), because it can be kinda hit or miss for your perfect line. But when the river decides to take your boat where you want it to go, and you glide smoothly through the wild water, it is maybe the best feeling in the whole world.

Do you have a lucky charm or special river tradition?

My lucky charm is the orange cam strap that my dad made/used on his boat when he guided, to hold my bow line.

What can you not live without while at work or on a trip?

Sunglasses, my wonderful passengers, and my big fluffy pillow.

Fun fact, special talent or favorite guiding/trip memory.

I love playing my ukulele around the campfire for everyone on the trip. I feel like music is the way I connect best with my river family and it brings everyone together. 🎶

About me…

When I’m not on the river, I’m either finishing culinary school, working on starting my farm, shopping for sail boats, or studying what Glen Canyon was like and how we could possibly bring it back.
