About me

I’ve been hitting the rapids since age three, following the water from the Canadian Rockies all the way down to Georgia. Along the way, I’ve set up camp in Canmore, Kingston, Victoria, San Francisco, San Diego, and Fort Lauderdale. These days, life is a beautiful mix of adventure consulting and high-energy parenting. When my husband and I aren't working, we’re usually trekking up Kennesaw Mountain with a toddler passenger in tow, hunting down Atlanta’s best hidden-gem restaurants, or sneaking in some local inflatable kayaking. Between family trail days and crushing a great book, we're eagerly keeping the seat warm for when our little one is big enough to start his own lifelong river story.

The Best Part of My Job

Getting to set people up for the kind of life-changing adventures that only happen on the water! Some of the most breathtaking, wild places on earth are completely hidden away - unless you have a raft to get you there. I love being the one who helps open that door for our guests.

How I found OARS

With a dad who worked as a professional guide in Canada, OARS has been on my radar since elementary school. Knowing they held the absolute highest standard of excellence, I couldn't wait to join the team and help others discover the same river magic I grew up with!

My Favorite Spot on the River/Outdoors

Favourite Rapid: The pure rush of the Big Drops in Cataract Canyon at high water. Favourite Campsite: The Knob on Alsek Lake on the Tatshenshini/Alsek River, nothing beats watching icebergs float by with Mt. Fairweather in the background. Favourite Mountain Views: Saddleback Pass in Lake Louise, AB, and the top of Rabun Bald in North Georgia during peak fall leaf season. Favourite Ski Spot: Castle Mountain Alberta Cat Skiing on a big powder day. Favourite Riverside Escape: Rios Lodge, a tropical eco-lodge on the Pacuare River in Costa Rica.

My Favorite Trip Memory

My favourite memories are a mix of high adrenaline and total peace. I’ve loved the rush of the Middle Fork Salmon in high water, exploring the hidden oasis of Elves Chasm on the Grand Canyon, and paddling on a mirror-calm Chilko Lake from Bear Camp. But above all, nothing beats the memory of introducing my husband to the river life and seeing his unbridled joy on his first multi-day trip on the Tuolumne.

Favorite River Tradition

Always stuffing my fleece and a toque (that’s Canadian for beanie!) into my sleeping bag before I go to sleep. That way, they’re already warm and cozy when it's time to crawl out of the tent in search of early morning coffee!

I Can’t Live Without

A travel watercolour pencil and sketch kit.

My Fun Fact

I speak French, taught barre classes for years, and can usually tell you the name of the bird making that noise.
