About This Trip

Rafting on the Gorges of the Lower Salmon River

Get behind the oars on Idaho’s Lower Salmon River alongside a supportive group of women and expert female instructors. Over five days, you’ll gain hands-on experience learning how to read the river, practicing essential rowing techniques, and building confidence, all while camping on beautiful sandy beaches in the heart of the Seven Devils region in western Idaho. No previous rafting experience is necessary; just a willingness to learn and embrace adventure.

According to OARS Idaho Operations Managers, Hillary Mosman and Lauren McCullough, this trip is all about lifting each other up, celebrating progress, and proving you’re more capable than you ever imagined.

“Representation, empowerment, and excellent boating are our goals in kicking off our first-ever all-women’s rowing clinic in Idaho,” says Mosman. “The shared experience of being a woman brings us together and deepens our ability to understand each other’s perspectives as we learn about reading and navigating whitewater, body dynamics, and river safety skills while tackling common challenges and much more!”

With a low 3-to-1 guest-to-instructor ratio and personalized coaching, this clinic is designed for women who want to explore whitewater guiding as a career, plan their own private trips, or simply challenge themselves in a welcoming, empowering environment. As a company with more than 55 years of experience and a reputation for excellence, OARS provides top-notch gear, exceptional instruction, and a river experience you’ll never forget.

“Our female crew has spent hundreds of days on the river and is excited to provide a top-tier experience that is both challenging and fun,” says McCullough. “Finesse, technique, and biodegradable glitter are sure to be trip highlights. We hope you join us!”
