Pride Day Rafting on the American

Our Pride Day rafting event on Saturday, June 12 is SOLD OUT

Advance reservations required!

Bummer! But even if you didn’t get a chance to reserve your spot for our June 12 Pride Day whitewater adventure, you can still #takeyourprideoutside and help support the Sacrament LGBTQ+ community all month long.

Celebrate Pride Month at OARS American River Outpost in Lotus, CA

Raft the South Fork of the American River with us any Sunday – Friday during the entire month of June and we’ll donate $5 per person to the Sacramento LGBT Community Center.

“You save what you love, and you love what you know,” is an expression that George Wendt, the founder of OARS, was especially fond of. He started OARS with the goal of taking people of all walks of life out on rivers, because he knew that the more personal something is to you, the harder you will fight to protect it.

We know the LGBTQ+ members of our river family, and the greater outdoor community, need to be acknowledged and advocated for. The only time anybody should feel like an ‘outsider’ is when they are climbing a mountain, splashing through rapids, or sleeping under the stars.

So get out there, show your pride, and splash through the adrenaline-inducing Class III rapids of the South Fork American River for Pride Month. Learn more about our month-long initiative here.

The Sacramento LGBT Community Center works to create a region where LGBTQ+ people thrive. They support the health and wellness of the most marginalized, advocate for equality and justice, and work to build a culturally rich LGBTQ+ community.
