Where did you grow up?
Where do you call home now?
Year started at OARS?
What’s the best part of your job?
Watching the sun rise and set over some of the most beautiful canyons in the world with my friends, new ones and old ones.
Tell us about your favorite rapid, hike or camp and what makes it special
My favorite camp is Stone Creek in the Grand Canyon. It is at the base of Deubendorff rapid. It is one of the larger beaches left in the Grand Canyon and offers a warm side stream and incredible hike to a series of waterfalls and narrows.
Do you have a lucky charm or special river tradition?
I’ve tried several lucky charms over the years and none of them worked 100%, so I just start each day with a Prayer that I have the strength and wisdom to provide those around me a safe and fun filled day.
What can you not live without on a trip?
A river cooled beer and my dory, Shoshone Falls.
Fun fact, special talent or favorite guiding memory
I was one of the lucky ones who got to guide Dory trips down the Grand Canyon with Martin Litton. The Outside Magazine trip with both Martin Litton and George Wendt was pretty special. I have been able to keep guiding with OARS while starting several business, I currently own Rapid Creek Cycles and Paddle Boards and Palisade River Trips in Palisade Colorado. The Palisade River Trips specializes in taking bachelorette parties down the Colorado River through Palisade’s wine country, how cool is that. I knew I’d be successful some day.
