What’s the best part of your job?
Working with and for OARS/Dories over the years has been an honor and a privilege—they’ve always, in my mind, set the bar for customer service.
Fun fact, special talent or favorite guiding memory
My dad took me down the river in 1971 when I was fifteen years old. I got a job as a swamper the next year and have basically never left. I’ve been rowing dories commercially since 1987 and have been proud to be a small part of the OARS family since 1988, when George bought Grand Canyon Dories from Martin Litton.
My forte is human history on the river and I’ve been enriched greatly in that regard since I was assigned by my friends at Grand Canyon River Guides (particularly Kenton Grua) the task of recording oral histories about the river back in the 1980’s.
