| Pay Rate: | $18.00 to $19.00 per hour |
Position Summary
The Food Room & Store Assistant supports daily operations of the commissary, retail store, and campground. This role focuses on meal packing, inventory support, guest services, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient outpost environment.
Essential Duties
- Commissary & Food Preparation
- Pack and portion meals according to trip needs and dietary requirements
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
- Monitor and restock commissary inventory
- Assist with receiving deliveries and supplies
- Assist in the preparation and clean up of meal service as needed
- Store & Campground Operations
- Greet and assist guests; support check-in and campsite assignments
- Operate point-of-sale system and restock retail items
- Issue, clean, and organize rental equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, camp areas, and common spaces
- Perform general upkeep including laundry and trash removal
Skills & Qualifications
- Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Customer service experience preferred
- Basic computer skills required
- Food service experience a plus
- California Food Handler’s Card (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Availability for weekends and flexible scheduling
Schedule
- Seasonal: Late April – September
- Approximately 20–40 hours per week, including weekends
