Welcome to OARS Dinosaur
Based in Vernal, UT, OARS Dinosaur offers some of Utah’s most memorable rafting adventures, guiding families and first-time rafters through the legendary canyons of the Green and Yampa rivers on 1- to 5-day trips for ages 4 and up. Voted “Best River Guide” in Salt Lake City Weekly’s Best of Utah 2025, our team sets the bar for exceptional river experiences in Dinosaur National Monument.
Our story is rooted in the legacy of Don Hatch River Expeditions, originally founded in 1929 by Bus Hatch and later led by legendary river runner Don Hatch. After Don’s passing in 1994, his wife, Meg, carried the operation forward until 2007, when she entrusted OARS Founder George Wendt to continue the Hatch family tradition. In 2008, with the blessing of the National Park Service, Don Hatch River Expeditions officially became part of the OARS family—an honor we’re proud to carry forward on every trip.
