Morocco: Desert & Rivers - Overview

Download Itinerary

Nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean in the Northwest corner of Africa, you wouldn’t expect Morocco to have everything from rugged mountain ranges and hidden river gorges to a portion of the Great Sahara Desert. But spectacular scenery and natural treasures aren’t the only surprises that await you. Along with incredible outdoor adventures, this exotic country offers an opportunity to discover a dreamlike civilization that has remained largely unchanged for centuries. Join O.A.R.S. as we paddle through the stunning landscape surrounding the Ahansel River, explore remote Berber villages and ultimately, end up in the lively and mysterious city of Marrakech and its famous Djemaa el Fna souk. Along the way, ride camels through the Sahara Great Dunes, visit Roman ruins, and take in all the carnival-esque sights (like snake charmers in hidden alley-ways) and enticing smells (the aroma of hundreds of spices wafting through the air all at once) that will stick with you for years to come as you close your eyes and remember this special place. Intrigued? Take a peek at the itinerary for this exciting adventure…
