This changes daily – but I’ll always love Sledgehammer, a beautiful meaty class IV rapid on the Royal Gorge section of the Arkansas River, and low-water Hospital Bar, a class III on the South Fork American that packs a rowdy punch.

Do you have a lucky charm or special river tradition?

Professing my infinite and intimate love for the river every day and the two buffalo nickels I wear around my neck

What can you not live without on a trip?

Snacks! And my lovely coworkers.
