Tell us about your favorite rapid, hike or camp and what makes it special.

I love quiet time at the Yew Grove on the Main Salmon. The strange microclimate and unique trees create a perfect atmosphere for thoughtful reflection.

Do you have a lucky charm or special river tradition?

I splash water on my face at the take out to thank the river for safe passage.

What can you not live without on a trip?

Flip flops and Xtratufs.

I can ride a unicycle.

When I’m not on the river I love to ride my mountain bike. In the winter I coach big mountain skiing in Taos.
