Tell us about your favorite rapid, hike or camp and what makes it special

The “up-and-over” hike up Tapeats Creek to the spectacular Thunder River and then over to a perfect oasis, Deer Creek!  Walking back to the Colorado River through the “narrows” and having the opportunity to drink in all the grandness around you–it just blows you away on so many levels!

Do you have a lucky charm or special river tradition?

On an overnight trip, you’ve got to bring a good book to read in the evening.

What can you not live without on a trip?

Sunscreen!

Ability to channel my father, as ‘George Junior.’
