Professional River Guide
Where did you grow up?

Where do you call home now?

Wherever I lay my head at night.

Year started at OARS?

What’s the best part of your job?

Sharing an outdoor experience with people whose expectations will more than likely be exceeded… and cutting into a fresh avocado at lunch.

Tell us about your favorite rapid, hike or camp and what makes it special

Camping at Clavey Right is by far the best camping spot on the Tuolumne. It gets your blood pumping, sharing stories and planning your approach for the early morning’s Class V rapid.

Do you have a lucky charm or special river tradition?

De-topping my boat for the big rapids.

What can you not live without on a trip?

The basics: a well-fitting baseball cap, a slick pair of sunglasses, and a hydroflask full of ice water. For overnight trips: a hot cup of coffee and a warm layer for those early mornings.
