Greys’ Grindstone on the Tuolumne
Long, technical, fun set of drops.
It’s a dance, when setting the proper safetys with multiple boats.
Upper Greys’ is a great lunch spot. Full of huge boulders, dramatic geology and hydrology.
Do you have a lucky charm or special river tradition?
Charm: I have a leatherman tool I’ve had since I first started working as a 1st responder in 1990. It goes on every river trip, and it gets used on almost every one.
Tradition: Drinks with the crew after debriefing the day.
What can you not live without on a trip?
The Theracane! A large cane shaped self massage device. Must have for multi day trips.
