Where did you grow up?
Where do you call home now?
Year started at OARS?
What’s the best part of your job?
Being surrounded by great, wacky personalities and taking care of a beautiful ecosystem.
Tell us about your favorite rapid, hike or camp and what makes it special
Big mallard is my favorite rapid. It’s the wildcard of the river for me. It always feels new even though its so short. Will it be smooth, will it be a little bumpy? We’ll find out downstream!
Do you have a lucky charm or special river tradition?
I leave something that I’m slightly attached to un-strapped going into big rapids. Adds a little extra incentive to stay upright. And there’s always a Hawaiian shirt in my bag.
What can you not live without on a trip?
A sarong, a few la croixs in my crate and a cribbage board.
Fun fact, special talent or favorite guiding memory
Too many good memories to pick a favorite but one fun fact is that I can do three cartwheels in a row. On a beach. With a slight angle.
