ANGELS CAMP, CA, Oct. 15, 2013 – Veteran river outfitter and nature-basedadventure travel company O.A.R.S. announces that it will begin paying new higher commission rates on select tours as well as commissions to travel agencies and top-producing travel advisors on bookings placed for O.A.R.S Grand Canyon rafting trips.
“In this day and age, people who lead excessively busy lives need more than ever to take time to disconnect. We believe there’s no better way to restore balance in one’s life than to take a river trip through the Grand Canyon and professional travel advisors are an ideal resource for the time-challenged” said Steve Markle, Director of Sales & Marketing for the O.A.R.S. Family of Companies. “Although we’ve always paid commissions on most of our trips, our Grand Canyon adventures are by far our most popular and trips tend to sell out more than a year in advance. Now, travel advisors who are keeping an eye out for their clients and thinking ahead to spring/fall 2014 or even 2015 can secure preferred travel dates and earn a commission when doing so.” Markle says he sees this as a “win win win for everyone!”
The revised commission rate for 5- to 18-day Grand Canyon trips ranges from 5 to 10 percent, depending upon the section of canyon. O.A.R.S. also pays a 10 percent commission on all other domestic and international adventures and has just announced a 5 percent override (15% total) commission for scheduled departures on Utah’sColorado River through Cataract Canyon in Canyonlands National Park and on Idaho’sMain Salmon River and Gorges of the Lower Salmon River.
Since 1969 when the company began, more than 500,000 guests have trusted O.A.R.S. to take them to exotic locations worldwide. Of these, 70 percent return for multiple trips or are referred by a friend. Over the years the company has gained a reputation for top-notch, well-maintained equipment, experienced and personable guides, the best guide-to-guest ratio in the business (1:4) and for riverside culinary experiences that are elevated to gourmet—often with regional wine, beer, cheese and even chocolate pairings.
“Our knowledgeable team of adventure consultants is available to help you select the perfect experience for your clients, and for most of the year they can be reached seven days a week,” Markle notes.
