Pride Day 2023 on the South Fork of the American River

Celebrate Pride Day at OARS American River Outpost

Float into Pride Month at the OARS American River Outpost

#TakeYourPrideOutside and join OARS and the Sacramento LGBT Community Center for our third annual Pride Day on the American River near Sacramento.

Sunday, June 4, 2023
Advance reservations are required!

For the event, OARS will host a free BBQ lunch and camp games for those jumping on a 1/2-day rafting trip on the South Fork of the American River. This offer is open to the LGBTQ+ community and allies because we believe our public lands should be safe and inclusive for everyone.

Can’t join us for the event? As part of our month-long Pride Month initiative, when you raft the South Fork of the American River with OARS any Sunday – Friday during the entire month of June, we’ll donate $5 per person to the Sacramento LGBT Community Center. Last year, with the help of our guests, we were able to raise more than $4,000 for the organization.

For years, OARS has strived to create a welcoming and inclusive experience for everyone on the river. We know the LGBTQ+ members of our river family, and the greater outdoor community, need to be represented and advocated for. In our opinion, the only time anybody should feel like an ‘outsider’ is when they are actually outside, when they’re climbing a mountain, splashing through rapids, or sleeping under the stars.

So get out there, show your pride, and splash through the adrenaline-inducing Class III rapids of the South Fork American River for Pride Month.

The Sacramento LGBT Community Center works to create a region where LGBTQ+ people thrive. They support the health and wellness of the most marginalized, advocate for equality and justice, and work to build a culturally rich LGBTQ+ community.
