Youth Adventures and Student Adventure Travel

Youth Adventures

We feel a strong commitment to introducing youth to the challenges and joys of the wilderness. Time and again we've seen young people return from an O.A.R.S. youth adventure on the South Fork of the American River or the Lower Klamath River, feeling vibrant, confident and fully prepared to take on the world. Our youth-oriented trips focus on peer leadership, trust, teamwork, and building self-esteem. This is an especially rewarding trip for schools, youth groups, camps, community organizations or foreign exchange programs. Ask about our special River of Life™ program for church groups.

Since 1969 O.A.R.S. has specialized in offering custom youth adventures and student adventure travel trips. We have run adventure programs for youth groups of all kinds, including churches, schools, Boy and Girl Scout trips, adaptive groups and many others. We'd be delighted to build a program for you.

With a greater selection of rivers and a variety of trip lengths, we offer more youth adventure options than any outfitter in the West. Additionally, each youth adventure can be customized specifically for your group. Many organizations couple their adventure packages with youth trips to Yosemite and Lake Tahoe, or additional activities like rock climbing or ropes courses. Our vast resources make it easy for you, as the group organizer, to put together a comprehensive package of your choice. At the bottom of this page, we've listed some of our most popular youth adventure programs. If you don't see one that fits your needs, browse the catalog and give us a call. We operate in 8 western states and throughout British Columbia on more than 35 rivers. Together, we will find a package that's right for your group.

Youth Adventures

Most of our youth adventures offer attractive discounts for groups of 11 or more. We also offer special rates to those who are able to plan their trips for the early (March-May) and late seasons (September-October). However, with accelerated discounts and only limited launches, early- and late-season spaces do fill quickly.

Additionally, we can deliver youth adventure with a spiritual focus. Any youth package can be custom-tailored to our River of Life program. The River of Life packages feature hand picked guides who share the spirituality of the group. This option allows group members to challenge their spiritual as well as physical being, and is offered as an option on any youth trip at no additional cost.

No matter what the focus of your youth adventure, making use of our resources certainly eases your task of organizing the trip. Just give us a call so we can start planning your next youth adventure now.  Join us for the Journey!
