O.A.R.S. Exploratory Trips

Why Exploratory Trips?

nepal-exploratory2

Over the years, we’ve been approached by many of our guides, colleagues and fellow travelers to offer experiences well off the beaten path, to extraordinary destinations, that are just too good to miss! Whether it’s a solstice festival in the Andes, a solar eclipse on the Great Barrier Reef, a sacred river in the Himalaya, or the migration of some magnificent creature, we want to share these unique opportunities and our unprecedented access with our travelers.

Expedition Nepal: Rafting & Trekking in Everest's Shadow

nepal-exploratory1The tallest mountain in the world—Everest—looms majestically in northern Nepal. And while climbing the infamous peak may not be something you’ve ever dreamed of doing, rafting and trekking this Himalayan paradise can be. We invite you to join O.A.R.S. in October for an invigorating and exciting expedition through this remarkable ancient land. We’ll journey from the intoxicating city of Kathmandu into the wild abyss of the Himalaya where the snows of the Kachenjunga feed the Tamur River. The only way to access this remote river is by foot. For four days we’ll trek through exotic moss-covered forest, over mountain passes and past sacred lakes and friendly villages before reaching our put-in for an exhilarating rafting trip down the unrivaled Tamur. As this magnificent land challenges us to the core, we’ll be reminded that true adventure can still be found. Take a peek at the itinerary below…
