In 1969, O.A.R.S. became the first exclusively non-motorized rafting operator on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. In the past 40+ years, we've learned a thing or two about what makes a great river trip in the canyon. That's why when it comes to experiencing—not just seeing—the Grand Canyon, no one does it better than O.A.R.S.

O.A.R.S. Grand Canyon, Inc. is an authorized concessioner of Grand Canyon National Park

Grand Canyon by Raft
Grand Canyon by Dory

This is North America's ultimate river trip, through one of the Seven Wonders of the World. What few people realize is that because the water releases on the Colorado River in Grand Canyon National Park are controlled, the early and late-seasons of April or September and October offer the Canyon at its best.

In addition to exciting Grand Canyon whitewater, O.A.R.S. also specializes in fantastic canyon side hikes such as Matkatamiba Canyon, Deer Creek Falls, Elves Chasm, Havasu Creek and other lush oases in this desert of skyscraper rocks. We'll even take you to one of the best swimming holes in the West... the warm, turquoise water of the Little Colorado.

If you can't find space on the Grand Canyon rafting trip you're looking for, O.A.R.S. offers a similar experience through Utah's Cataract Canyon in Canyonlands National Park.

For a truly exceptional boating experience, a dory boat trip through the Grand Canyon provides a unique and exciting alternative to an inflatable raft. Dories are small, traditional and charmingly elegant, rigid boats designed to carry four people and a tremendous amount of gear.

At a mere 16' from bow to stern, these sleek, classic vessels are capable of running a river much more quickly than a raft. However, a Grand Canyon dory trip is not about speed, but about your own intimate—some might say organic—experience of the river and are generally a day or two longer than our raft trips.

As in life, the point is not whether you've just been to a place, but how you experience it once you get there. With a high crew-to-passenger ratio, our Grand Canyon dory trips provide better access to a more relaxed and energetic crew while they provide you with a quality of service unmatched in the industry.
