For close to 40 years, O.A.R.S. has been recognized as a leader in first-class rafting as well as environmentally and culturally responsible travel. In 2006 President and Founder, George Wendt was honored by the Adventure Travel Trade Association with a Lifetime Achievement Award and Men's Journal selected O.A.R.S. as one of five "Best Outfitters" after polling "dozens of experts and thousands of readers." Additionally, our sister company, Rivers Fiji swept the 2006 AON Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards as the proud recipient of both the Adventure Tourism Award and the Environmental Tourism Award.

In 2007, O.A.R.S. received recognition from Outside, Sunset and National Geographic Adventure magazines for new and classic trips throughout the Western U.S. and internationally while veteran Adventure Consultant and Reservations Manager, Mindy Gleason was selected as the first ever "Top Travel Specialist" in the River Rafting category by Conde Nast Traveler's Wendy Perrin. In 2007 O.A.R.S. also received recognition from the nationally syndicated NBC series,"In Wine Country" for "Best Wine Country Adventure" on the Tuolumne River in California and was honored with the prestigious award for "Best Adventure Travel Company on Earth" in the River and Sea category from National Geographic Adventure.
